Shout out to the amazing photographers, planners and other vendors with whom we’ve worked over the years, for documenting all the wonderful non-musical memories:
“So first let me admit that one of the things we wanted from our wedding DJ was to have her take charge and do everything. We had some strong musical ideas, but after giving Jane Elizabeth those, we pretty much got out of the way.
And we’re so glad we did. She was INCREDIBLE, from our first email exchanges to one long phone call that solidified what she was doing. And after that, we barely spoke at all. Not because she was inattentive – on the contrary, she sent us regular updates. But she was in direct contact with our wedding venue and other vendors, leaving us time to worry about all the other things a couple planning to get married worry about.
The first time we met her face-to-face was 15 minutes before the ceremony. We thought we would have to have a conversation about something – speaker placement, music cues, something. But nope. Jane had already coordinated with the wedding coordinator at the venue and had everything ready to go. And the evening itself was so smooth that we never worried for a second about the music or the DJ. This was all because of Jane’s excellent and thorough preparation and expertise.
And then there was the music itself. Perfect. Absolutely perfect. She blended many of the songs we had given her to give her an idea of our aesthetic with many of her own selections into an atmospherically magical cocktail and dinner soundtrack. And the dance part of the evening was a perfect mix of exactly what we wanted – some New Wave, some Brit Pop, some Riot Grrls, and some great Top 40 dance music that had us dancing until the lights were turned on. She even negotiated the inevitably weird request from the odd guest and turned it into something fun.
As we joked with her at the end of the night, we can’t wait to get married again so she can be the DJ!” –Wedding Wire

“When we contacted Jane about DJing our wedding she was already booked that day, but set us up with her partner Jim, who was fantastic! After our initial email contact we set up a phone date to see if we were on the same page (which we were!). Jim has experience with both weddings and indie radio DJing, which was a perfect fit for us- we wanted a mix of popular party music (especially from the 60s and 90s) and the more indie type of music we listen to. Closer to the wedding he gave us some good suggestions for certain points of the night that should have a specific song picked out (cake cutting, etc). During the evening itself a lot of our guests praised the music selection, and I especially loved when Jim played a relevant song after my Best Man made a reference to a favorite band of ours in his speech. He was also easy to get in touch with via email in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Jim is very professional while also being laid back and easy to talk with, and I couldn’t have been happier with his work that evening. If I ever find myself needing an event DJ again, Jim’s my man!” –Wedding Wire

“Jane of Stylus DJ was fantastic and a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She has a great knowledge of all different kinds of music and had no trouble learning our unique styling and putting together an absolutely perfect playlist for our wedding. We got lots of compliments throughout the night. During planning, we were able to conveniently share with her a list of songs we liked and wanted played, as well as our schedule for the day via Google Drive. She got everything organized and we could see her entire plan. The day of, I didn’t even give it a second thought – I knew she would carry everything out perfectly, from ceremony music to acting as our MC (she worked directly with our venue) to dance music at the reception and fielding requests all night. We didn’t want certain types of music played and she was able to respond to each request accordingly. After the wedding, she emailed us with an updated list of all the songs she’d played – and a playlist on Spotify, which I loved! She is thoughtful and dependable – exactly the type of person you want to work with for your wedding. For example – we are fans of Elvis Costello and, knowing this, she wore a pair of red shoes to our wedding that had been autographed by him! This type of personal touch really goes above and beyond and sets her apart from other vendors … Wish everyone I’d worked with was like her!” –Wedding Wire

“Jane was excellent- we planned our wedding from overseas and she was more than willing to work around our massive time difference. she met with us (over skype) and was always available via email. Jane really took the time to figure out who we are as people as well as what type of event we were looking for, and kept notes that we could look at and update via google docs and spotify. So helpful for an overseas bride! she also went out of her way to visit the venue, chat with their event coordinator, and double check with us about timing and specific moments during the ceremony and reception.
i would absolutely recommend Jane to anyone looking for an excellent DJ in the Phila area. Her thoughtful and clever music selection really made the day an extra kind of special. 5 out of 5!” –Wedding Wire

“My husband and I hired Jane Elizabeth from Stylus DJ Entertainment to DJ our Halloween wedding this year. We have very specific and “out there” tastes in music, so when Jane said she would be willing to work with us on a Heavy Metal Cocktail Hour, and incorporate songs from Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Apocalyptica into our ceremony, we knew this was going to work. Jane and her DJ partner Jim were great at keeping the flow of everything going. We had several meetings with Jane, both in person and on the phone in order to discuss songs that we wanted for the wedding. Jane was great at helping us edit, but also respected our love of heavy music, and 80’s and 90’s music, and kept true to a classic, spooky Halloween theme. She made these two great big Jack Skellington structures to hide the speakers, which was wonderful! The uplighting also added a great ambiance to the party. I’d recommend Jane to anyone who doesn’t want a cheesy DJ, who will listen to your needs, and who will help you edit down massive lists to something that will work for your wedding. Thank you Jane for helping make the best night of my life even more amazing! :)”
