“We loved working with Katie Rose, and every person I interacted with at Stylus was great and totally professional. I started out speaking with Jane, who gave me a sense of all the different DJs who work for her to see who would be a good fit. Katie Rose not only seemed like a good match for our needs, but was also within our budget. The great thing about Stylus is that they have several DJs with different styles and price points, so they can pretty much make anything work on your budget. After having a preliminary call with Katie Rose, I knew we’d get along great. It was great to be able to communicate with her both via email and text, and to have a collaborative Google Sheet where we could bat around and organize ideas. Katie Rose also works using Spotify, and linked us to other weddings that she did, which was really helpful in helping envision our own day. She rolled with some of our weirder requests, and kept the party moving! She might not have the years of experience that some of the more senior Stylus DJs have, but she is a total professional, super nice, and can make your dream wedding happen! I can’t recommend her more highly.” –Wedding Wire

Soft Cell’s pioneering 1981 cover of the Northern Soul classic, “Tainted Love,” is the inspiration for this awesome 80s dance party. Building on a solid foundation of New Wave, we’ll dig deeper into the catalog of massive hits and overlooked misses from the late 70s through the early 90s – pivotal years in musical history that blurred the lines between Analog and Digital, Disco and Synthpop, Funk and Hip-Hop. A time when Alternative was called Post-Punk, Indie actually meant independent, and Throbbing Gristle’s “Hot on the Heels of Love” surely could have been alongside Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” on the charts…with today’s perspective. Other passions include CBGB-era New York, Batcave-era London – Punk Rock, Glam Rock, Kraut Rock, Girl Rock, Dad Rock, Rockabilly, Ska, Machine Soul, Blue-Eyed Soul, Darkwave, Coldwave – plus some guilty pleasures in the (strictly) Old-School Rap department.

Hosted by Guest DJ Katie Rose (Stylus NYC).

“Book DJ Katie Rose if you want your wedding to be the best dance party of your life! Katie is thoughtful, creative, easy to work with, responsive to any and all requests and is a true collaborator. After the wedding she also sent us our playlist on Spotify, which is a wonderful gift that we will enjoy forever more. We found Jane Elizabeth and Stylus Events through online research, and then discovered that she plays sets at a local favorite, The Bell House in Brooklyn. Jane then connected us to Katie, who was the perfect fit for our event. Our request was someone who plays songs that you may not have heard in a while, but once they’re on you say, “oh I love this song!” and get out on the dance floor. I get emotional with gratitude when I say that Katie’s music made our wedding reception as wonderful as it was. Thank you DJ Katie Rose and Jane Elizabeth!” —Wedding Wire and The Knot

“DJ Katie from Stylus DJ Entertainment dj’d our May 12, 2018 and did an AMAZING job!! She played music that perfectly matched the vibe we were going for our wedding! DJ Katie translated our description of the vibe we wanted and a few songs that we liked into the most amazing wedding playlists that, no exaggerating, were better than anything we were envisioning for our dream wedding. She also made an edit for the father/daughter dance that was really special! She amazingly adapted to day of changes to the schedule/music and expertly navigated dealing with guests requesting music on the “no play” list. Overall, we would absolutely recommend DJ Katie and Stylus DJ Entertainment to anyone looking for great music and wonderful people to work with!” –Wedding Wire and The Knot

“Currently based in NYC with hometown roots in Detroit, Nick and I knew Katie was the perfect fit for our downtown industrial wedding vibes. As a couple, we aren’t too much of music snobs but wanted a different approach to music than the typical offerings of a wedding DJ. Knowing Katie from New York, we asked her to curate a playlist for us but she came through with so much more. After our initial meeting to discuss the run of show and favorite genres, she gave us a playlist to select some new songs from that would incorporate into our wedding day mix. Having chosen two non traditional locations in Detroit for the ceremony andKatie reception, Katie made sure to attend our rehearsal and speak with our coordinators to ensure all would run smoothly. With the challenge of having the ceremony off site from the reception, Katie handled both venues flawlessly to ensure the tunes were flowing from the pre-ceremony welcome to our final exit. Katie brought so much more life into our wedding with her vast knowledge and depth of musical greats.” –Wedding Wire
