DJ Jim-Senior-NYC

Before moving to New York City in 2011, Jim spent 5 years working as a professional wedding and event DJ in his hometown of Boston. As a child, he loved bands like Duran Duran, U2 and The Cure, but after a trip to band camp as a teen, Jim realized that he was more than just a fan, and music would be a huge part of his life from then on. As an event DJ, Jim loves to spin jazz vocals, soul and Motown, 80s pop, 90s electronica, current Top 40 and beyond, but his ultimate goal is to accommodate your requests, and ultimately complement the event with music that fits your personality or a particular theme.

Jim has literally spent tens of thousands of hours in record stores, and his music library includes all styles and eras of music. Not only is he sure to have what you are looking for, but he is eager to discuss it with you, to make your special day the best it can be. His confident yet non-cheesy style on the microphone ensures that your guests and photographer don’t miss important moments like your First Dance or Cake Cutting. Jim‘s wedding experience, easygoing nature, and extensive music knowledge make him perfect for any occasion.

8/26/2017: I worked with a personal connection at Stylus, Jim Siegel, for my wedding. Jim, formerly of Rough Trade records and Other Music, has a broad knowledge of popular music and a firm handle on the good stuff. He’s highly professional, perfectly attentive, and imminently professional, yet relaxed. He played a balanced mix of our musical […]

9/10/2016: When we contacted Jane about DJing our wedding she was already booked that day, but set us up with her partner Jim, who was fantastic! After our initial email contact we set up a phone date to see if we were on the same page (which we were!). Jim has experience with both weddings and […]

7/8/2016: Jim was a true professional and was a pleasure to work with. He took careful consideration of the music that we wanted to hear at our wedding, and made sure that everything was tailored specifically for us on our big day. I give him and Stylus DJ Entertainment my highest possible recommendation.” -Max –Wedding Wire
