Are you available on my date? Will you take gigs on short notice?

Please get in touch to find out! While pricing is transparent, we prefer to keep our private event schedule private, and will always do our best to accommodate last-minute bookings. A list of familiar venues may be found here.

What is the process?

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes, and we will provide proof for your venue on request.

What kind of deposit do you require? What payment methods do you accept?

Approximately 1/3 to reserve the date, with the balance due the day of the event. Deposits may be made via Check, Venmo, PayPal, Credit Cards, Cash and US Postal Money Order. The balance due is paid directly to the DJ the day of. Please contact us for a sample copy of the contract.

A parent or family member is paying/is a decisionmaker.

Thank you for letting us know this in advance – we are happy to take care of the paperwork with another party.

Will the DJ require a meal at my event?

Yes – vendor meals are customary and always appreciated. We generally prefer to eat discreetly from the DJ table and don’t take many breaks.

Will the DJ drink alcohol at my event?

No – it is a violation of our liability insurance policy.

Will the DJ make announcements?

We are totally comfortable making any announcements you need to keep the flow of the party going and do not bring a separate MC.

Will the DJ take requests from guests?

We love taking requests and interacting with your guests! If you prefer otherwise, we will politely decline or suggest a song or style we’ve already agreed on.

Can we give the DJ a must play/do not play list?

Yes, this is strongly encouraged, and we will ask for some of your favorite bands and genres and those your guests may enjoy. Otherwise, you may have as much or as little control over the song pool as you like, and we’ll take care of the rest.

How many songs will the DJ be able to play?

15-20 songs per hour. We consider it precious real estate.

Can you edit or loop a particular song to fit our needs?

Yes, basic edits are included, and are often used for processionals, recessionals, or other milestone events such as introductions and cake cutting.

We would like some of the music to reflect a particular culture (e.g., Jewish, Spanish, Indian, etc.) – can you accommodate?

Definitely!

What is your contingency plan?

DJs don’t take sick days, but in case of an emergency with advance notice, we would do our best to find a replacement and make your shared timeline, music organizer and gear, if feasible, available to him or her.

Do you use turntables and play vinyl records at events or is everything digital?

Though we are all vinyl lovers, everything is digital. We may add this service in the future, however.

Do you book events other than weddings, like corporate events, bar/bat mitzvahs and birthday parties?

My philosophy is the more the merrier! If you like how we present ourselves and think you would be a good fit, please get in touch. I am also open to working with DJs in markets outside of NYC/Philadelphia.
